El pianista Chucho Valdés, ganador de 5 Premios Grammy y que graba pa Blue Note Records dende 1985, foi una figura clave na evolución del jazz afro cubanu mientres los postreros 50 años. El saxofonista Joe Lovano empieza a grabar pal sellu en 1990 y editó más álbumes en Blue Note Records que nengún otru artista.
