El veterano director de culto Ado Arrieta regresa a la gran pantalla con una personal visión del clásico cuento infantil La Bella Durmiente que marcó su infancia, al que imprime su personal estilo onírico.

Arrietta sitúa la acción en el reino de Letonia, donde el joven príncipe Egon pasa las noches tocando la batería. Durante el día solamente piensa cómo adentrarse en el reino de Kentz para encontrar a la bella durmiente y romper el hechizo con un beso. Su padre, el rey, que no cree en cuentos de hadas, se opone totalmente y será finalmente una arqueóloga de la Unesco quien le dé la clave.
