El proyecto Fontoria nace en la primavera de 2017 en el concejo de Piloña, pero no es hasta otoño de ese mismo año cuando logra consolidarse en forma de cuarteto.


El grupo adquiere tintes progresivos sin deshacerse de los sonidos más tradicionales, comenzando a hacer una mezcla con las músicas de otros lugares como Breizh (Bretaña), El Piamonte italiano o la música tradicional de Europa central, sumergiéndose en ocasiones en el neoclasicismo, el folk barroco de los 60 y 70 del siglo XX, así como algún experimento con la música de vanguardia.


En Abril de 2019, salio al mercado su primer trabajo llamado 'Nordés' y ya están trabajando en su segundo disco.
