El tema del hombre dentro de la máquina es recurrente en la historia de la ciencia-ficción, pero ¿es posible imaginar a la máquina dentro del hombre? Esa es la sorprendente premisa de este inolvidable clásico del género: un equipo médico es miniaturizado con un submarino e introducido en el sistema sanguíneo de un ser humano con la misión de eliminar un tumor cerebral.

En parte película de aventuras, donde el mar ha sido sustituido por el plasma y la fauna acuática por leucocitos y temibles anticuerpos, en parte ensayo pseudo-filosófico sobre la infinitud del uiverso que todos llevamos dentro, Viaje alucinante es, sobre todo, un delirante artificio pop muy propio de su tiempo, hoy fascinante por un diseño visual que se adentra en los terrenos de lo puramente lisérgico.
