En apariencia, todos están de acuerdo y le van a apoyar. Sin embargo, en el 'tête a tête' con cada uno de los empleados, Ramírez se encuentra con una serie de excusas para evitar formar parte de esta lista. Lo cierto es que la mayoría de excusas para no firmar en la lista de la Smoking Room esconden otras. A partir de esta situación, vemos que casi todos tienen algo que ocultar. Ramírez se mantendrá inconsciente en casi todos los casos. La película muestra en diferentes planos la batalla de cada uno con sus propios problemas. Este mundo de pequeñas intrigas acabará explotando y produciendo sus víctimas.
