La Plaza Mayor acogerá la inauguración de la Semana Grande de Gijón/Xixón con la participación de Manuel Durán y Lorena Corripio, el Grupo de Coros y Danzas del Real Grupo de Cultura Covadonga, el Grupo Folklórico El Xolgoriu, Coros y Danzas Flor de Xaranzaina, el Grupo Folklórico La Alegría, el Grupo Folklórico El Xiringüelu, l'Agrupación Folklórica Asturiana Los Xustos, el Grupo Folklórico Trebeyu y la Escuela de Música Tradicional Trubiecu, con música a cargo del gaitero Diego Fernández y el tamborilero Edu Losa. Cerrará la actuación Víctor con la interpretación del 'Gijón del alma' y 'Asturias'.
