Castro del Castelón

El Castelón d'Eilao forma parte de la importante rede de poblados que mientres la época altoimperial sirvió de modelu organizativu pa la distribución de la población y la más óptima esplotación de los recursos auríferos de la zona. El castru presenta los rasgos más carauterísticos d'esti tipu de asentamientos: aterrazamientos, fosu y muralla. Col declive de la actividá minera, los castros acabarán progresivamente en total abandonu, dalgo que namái ye interrumpío por reocupaciones ocasionales.

Les casas d'esti pobláu prerromanu tán escalonaes y son semicirculares. Na meseta superior esisten restos de trés cases y, alredor d'éstes, hai dalgunes piedres circulares.

La zona noreste escalónase en dos aterrazamientos, el superior coincide con la cume y nél apréciense restos de trés viviendes en pizarra xunida con barru, yustapuestes y con una incurvación n'altor que s'asemeya a la de les viviendes de Cuaña, que fixo pensar nuna techumbre abovedada.

La terraza inferior ye de interpretación más difícil, apreciándose una muria n'arcu que converxe hacia la supuesta puerta.
