Rita Mamun es, con tan solo 20 años, una atleta rusa de élite en gimnasia rítmica que ha llegado al momento crucial de su carrera deportiva. Pronto se retirará, pero su objetivo final es convertirse en campeona olímpica. Esta será su última oportunidad para hacer realidad su gran sueño: conseguir el oro en los Juegos Olímpicos de Brasil. ¿Cuál es el precio que los y las atletas están dispuestos a pagar para llegar al éxito?

'¡No eres un ser humano, eres una atleta!'. A través de sus entrenamientos vemos las duras relaciones que se establecen entre entrenadores y atletas para llegar al éxito, además de la presión física y mental a la que se ven sometidas las deportistas de élite.

Este es el retrato de una joven atleta que lucha para conseguir lo que ambiciona a la vez que cumple con las expectativas del exigente sistema oficial de entrenamiento ruso, dejando de lado su vida personal.

Marta Prus es una documentalista polaca, graduada en dirección de documentales por la Andrzej Wajda Master School. Durante su infancia fue miembro del equipo polaco de gimnasia rítmica durante 7 años. Posteriormente fue bailarina en el Hanna Kamińska Dance Studio, fundado por la National Ballet School de Varsovia. Over The Limit es su película debut.
