Rafa Lorenzo, cantautor y perteneciente al Nuevu canciu astur, dedicándose fundamentalmente a recuperar la tradición musical de les brañes, grabó más de cien cantares, musicó a grandes poetes como Lorca, Miguel Hernández, Machado y mui especialmente al xixonés Alfonso Camín, al que dedicó dos de los sos nueve discos. Ente otres distinciones y premios, foi “Payetsa” de Plata 2002, gallardón que conceden los vaqueiros a los sos defensores, y esti mesmu añu 2017 foi gallardonáu col Premiu Nacional de Música Tino Casal al meyor cantar d’autor d’ámbitu rexonal.


Acompañáu d’escelentes músicos fusiona la música de la braña con tendencies nueves: jazz, blues, rock, balaes, etc.
